How to download a file as a stream from a http.get call in Angular?
.everyoneloves__top-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__mid-leaderboard:empty,.everyoneloves__bot-mid-leaderboard:empty{ height:90px;width:728px;box-sizing:border-box;
}
I'm downloading a file from an ASP.NET WEBAPI. The API returns a FileStreamResult
immediately, without waiting to receive the whole file from azure storage.
Right now I'm using this Angular code to get the file:
downloadFile(fileId, fileName) {
this.http.get(Endpoints.fileUploadEndpoint + '/' + fileId, {
responseType: 'blob'
}).subscribe(blob => {
var link = document.createElement('a');
link.href = window.URL.createObjectURL(blob);
link.download = fileName;
link.click();
});
It works, but it waits to download the whole file in the background and only then proceeds to the subscribe
part when it actually downloads it in the browser where the user can see it. I need a way in which the download starts automatically from the user's point of view too.
I mean start the download in the browser and show the progress and everything.
