COLLECTED BY

Organization: Internet Archive

These crawls are part of an effort to archive pages as they are created and archive the pages that they refer to. That way, as the pages that are referenced are changed or taken from the web, a link to the version that was live when the page was written will be preserved.

Then the Internet Archive hopes that references to these archived pages will be put in place of a link that would be otherwise be broken, or a companion link to allow people to see what was originally intended by a page's authors.

The goal is to fix all broken links on the web.

Crawls of supported "No More 404" sites.

Collection: Wikipedia Near Real Time (from IRC)

This is a collection of web page captures from links added to, or changed on, Wikipedia pages. The idea is to bring a reliability to Wikipedia outlinks so that if the pages referenced by Wikipedia articles are changed, or go away, a reader can permanently find what was originally referred to.

This is part of the Internet Archive's attempt to rid the web of broken links.

Young Performers Awards returns in 2017

The ABC Young Performers Awards will return next year in partnership with the Musicians & Opera Singers Trust.

Written by ABC Classic FM

The ABC is pleased to announce that the Young Performers Awards, Australia's major competition for young classical instrumentalists, will continue under a new partnership agreement with the Musicians & Opera Singers Trust Ltd (MOST).

Since 1944, the ABC Young Performers Awards has provided aspiring young musicians with the opportunity to perform with Australia's major orchestras in the quest to be named Young Performer of the Year.

The Awards have been a significant event in Australian classical music for over 70 years. It is an opportunity like no other for up-and-coming Australian classical artists, and many of Australia's leading classical musicians have been finalists and winners.

Throughout its history, the competition has become known for identifying and celebrating new Australian classical music talent.

The Awards have been known by various names, including the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition and the ABC-Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards.

Since 1997, the competition has grown under the stewardship of Symphony Australia and established a reputation as a launching pad for international careers.

In March 2016, philanthropic organisation MOST approached Symphony Services and the ABC with a proposal to support the continuation of the Awards. MOST also supports the annual Australian Singing Competition that formerly was the 'vocal' part of the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Awards, the ancestor of the YPA.

The renewed Awards will be known as the ABC Young Performers Awards, and will return next year in partnership with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Sydney Opera House. The competition finals will be broadcast live on ABC Classic FM.

MOST's Chief Executive Officer Roland Gridiger said 'We are thrilled to be presenting this prestigious competition for young talented musicians. The partnership with the ABC will ensure the continuing promotion and development of the next generation of Australia's best musical talent. The competition has been an important launch-pad for many successful music careers, unearthing an extraordinary number of talents including Simon Tedeschi, Diana Doherty, Roger Woodward, Ian Munro, Claire Edwardes, and Li Wei Qin.'

'We know MOST will do a great job in ensuring that the ABC Young Performers Awards continue to flourish and grow as well as playing a vital role in supporting the career development of the Finalists,' said ABC Classic FM Manager, Richard Buckham.
