JS Touch Drop event missing offsetX/layerX

0

So I have an Angular application where I have to drop an object (An HTML Element) onto a Timeline and get the accurate drop position.

I am using ng-drag-drop

The timeline covers a dynamic area of the page, which is why I cannot use the viewport properties of the touchmove event.

In Desktop Mode,

I calculate the drop position from:

const clientWidth = event.nativeEvent.toElement
? event.nativeEvent.toElement.clientWidth
: event.nativeEvent.target.clientWidth;
const order_position_time =
(event.nativeEvent.layerX / clientWidth)

where event is the drop event.

Now, The client has introduced touch requirements. So I included this polyfill:

dragDropTouch polyfill

Now, when I drop the element into the timeline, the drop event is missing both offsetX and layerX. Could you please help me as to how to calculate the drop position in touch mode?
