How to connect 2 routers for a subnet wirelessly?

my problems is one that I cannot find anywhere else. I want to start by saying that I do not want my 2nd router to be a repeater (but I am also having problems connecting it in this way), I am trying to setup a subnetwork that is beneath my normal router that connects my ISP. I am attempting to do this for an exercise (think of it as creating a lab). Due to distance the only way for the routers to be connected is wirelessly which means I cannot simply connect an ethernet cable which most tutorials suggest I do. I have a server connected to the 2nd router which has its DHCP set up and range of IPs as well. I successfully set up the DHCP and have the IP range as 192.168.2.100-199. On the first router the available range is 192.168.0.100-199.

I have tried connecting them using about 6 different tutorials and the closest one I found was from Eli the Computer Guy on youtube.
Any help would be appreciated. I am using a TP-LINK router and a Netgear router to do this. I have already tried setting the Gateway of the Netgear as the IP of the TP-LINK as well bu this is also not successful.
