Field hockey at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang will be held at the GBK Hockey Field, Jakarta, Indonesia from 19 August to 1 September 2018. A total of twelve men's and ten women's teams will compete in each respective tournament.
Japan will host the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo , the vacancies reserved for the champions tournament.As the country won the two tournaments,were redirected to the runners-ups.[1]
