ActivityNotFoundException reinstalling the apk
I have my appinstalled. From a third party app I download from the cloud my apk when it changes. So I want to have a button on my app to install the new version easily.
Here is my try:
myFileApp.setReadable(true, false);
Intent promptInstall = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW);
promptInstall.setDataAndType(Uri.parse(myFileApp.getPath()), "application/vnd.android.package-archive");
startActivity(promptInstall);
But when I click on the button console says:
android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle
Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW
dat=/storage/emulated/0/Download/App/app-release.apk
typ=application/vnd.android.package-archive }
I tried different codes but I got always the same problem. How can I get my button to work properly?
