Scitech After Dark Adults Only

'Scitech After Dark' is an adults only (18 years plus) event being held on Saturday, 28th April, 2012 at Scitech in West Perth. You can find the Scitech venue at the end of the City West Centre on the corner of Sutherland and Railway Street, entry via Plaistowe Mews.

This special experience focuses on the theme 'Rescue' and provides an opportunity for adults to discover and interact with exhibits without the responsibility of entertaining children.

If you've ever wanted to know more about the different kinds of rescues involving sea, air and land, then head into Scitech from 6pm to 10pm on this night.

Access is FREE to Scitrekker members; if you'd like to know how to become one, select the link. It includes other fabulous benefits for use during the day. Just remember, for this event you may still be required to complete the online booking form for a unique code to enter free of charge.

You can also e-mail: jessie.roxby@scitech.org.au directly for this special code, with the request of specific details, such as membership number, to process your booking.

If you're not a member, save some time and money by booking online for $10 to this event, otherwise on arrival at the door you will be charged $14.

After dusk, learn about jet-ski water rescue, helicopter flight through simulation and fire fighting just to name a few. There's also a 360 degree bike; not part of the theme, but accessible to ride with limits.

The 'Rescue' exhibit took 18 months to plan and create. Available to the public nearly every day of the year, the display is very interesting, resourceful and fun. It's a privilege to have such valuable knowledge at our fingertips to explore.

The featured movie for the evening in Horizon - the Planetarium is:

Wildest Weather in the Solar System, by National Geographic:

The theatre show in the Lottery West Science Theatre is on Electricity.

To add to the excitement, they also encourage the wearing of rescue themed outfits or clothing if you're comfortable to do so. Not compulsory for entry. Don't forget to take your I.D. (identification), as it is an 18 years old plus event only.

Food can be purchased at the venue and I've heard there's also a Bar. Not a good idea before riding the 360 degree bike though.
