How can we retrieve URL entered in browser from a HTTPRequest after several redirections?
I have a web application hosted in GCP. This application has a Zuul gateway that redirects requests to appropriate applications. The Zuul gateway is behind a NGINX reverse proxy server.
My DNS setup redirects requests to the NGINX reverse proxy server. The NGINX reverse proxy server is configured to redirect requests received on port 80 to the Zuul gateway. The Zuul gateway is configured as 127.0.0.1:10001 in the NGINX config. I also have a wild card setting in my DNS setup to redirect any subdomains also to the NGINX reverse proxy server. e.g. if my domain is www.mydomain.com, my wild card setting allows dev.mydomain.com / uat.mydomain.com etc. also and redirects to the same NGINX server.
My requirement is to be able to retrieve the subdomain (www / dev / uat) from the URL entered in browser in my Zuul filter. However, I am unable to find a request header attribute / parameter etc. which gets the exact URL entered in the browser. request.getServerName() etc. returns 127.0.0.1 which is the IP used by NGINX to forward the request to Zuul. Any pointers on how to get the URL entered in browser in the Zuul prefilter (in my current setup) will help!
