bootstrap 4 navbar blinks

0

In a small device, with the menu collapsed, when a menu item was clicked the menu area was not closing.

So, I added the data-toggle and data-target to the div.
The problem then is in the expanded mode when a menu item is clicked, there is a flicker - as if the menu closes and re-opens.

Please suggest how I can fix this. Code below.

<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg fixed-top">

<div class="container">

<button class="navbar-toggler"
data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#collapse_target">
<span class="navbar-toggler-icon"></span>
</button>

<a routerLink="home" class="navbar-brand">
<img src="/assets/logo.png" />
</a>

<div id="collapse_target" class="collapse navbar-collapse"
data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#collapse_target">
<ul class="navbar-nav mr-auto">
</ul>

<ul class="navbar-nav">

<li class="nav-item d-md-block d-lg-none">
<a class="nav-link" routerLink="home"
[routerLinkActive]="['class1', 'class2']">
Home
</a>
</li>

<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" routerLink="page1"
[routerLinkActive]="['class1', 'class2']">
Page 1
</a>
</li>

<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" routerLink="page2"
[routerLinkActive]="['class1', 'class2']">
Page 2
</a>
</li>

<li class="nav-item">
<a class="nav-link" routerLink="page3"
[routerLinkActive]="['class1', 'class2']">
Page 3
</a>
</li>

</ul> <!-- end class="navbar-nav" -->

</div> <!-- end div id="collapse_target" class="collapse navbar-collapse" -->

</div> <!-- end div class="container" -->

</nav> <!-- end nav class="navbar navbar-expand-lg fixed-top" -->
