If you just run the JMX exporter as the Java Agent, it should automagically grab the Tomcat metrics. That how I have it set up in our environment running a whole bunch of Tomcat containers. They've all just worked.
Thanks. Can you please give me the detailed instruction source ?

Tomcat_Explorer - Prometheus
Download below json file from git to /tomcat/lib directory.
- simpleclient
- simpleclient_common
- simpleclient_servlet
- simpleclient_hotspot
- tomcat_exporter_client
(https://github.com/nlighten/tomcat_exporter)
Then download tomcat_exporter_servlet and rename it as metrics.war then put it inside the webapps directory.
Then restart tomcat and browse 192.168.x.y:8080/metrics and metrics can be seen.
Then add target to prometheus.yml.
- targets: ['192.168.x.z:8080']
