BigQuery - number of contributors per project

0

I'm looking to get some data for my master's thesis on the economic analysis of open source from BigQuery.

I'm hoping to obtain a dataset on Github Archive for the number of contributors (if possible, unique contributors) to each of the top 1000 (or perhaps top 1 million) projects. In doing so, I want to see if there is a scalable limit to the size of open source communities, sort of like a Dunbar's number, though, perhaps not.

What should I write into the query editor to find this dataset, if it is available? Thanks for any assistance or direction.

  • how about googling for something like "BigQuery public dataset for Github Archive"? most likely first few links will give you what you need. so then when you try something and have problem - you can get back here with specific issue and we will help you :o)
