How to query MySQL within a nodes.js callback function?

I have the same problem as already asked in this thread

How do I return callback of MySQL query and push to an array in Node.js?

but I can’t see how this function can solve it. I need to get more then one mapping value e.g. MySQL fields xcoord, ycoord & name .
But mostly it’s not possible for me to get the values over to a global created array due to I need to create objects on the server side. I can console log values within the callback-loops but I never get the values out of the functions . Can somebody help me?
