Installing gitlab-shell on server or client?

0

After reviewing the readme for gitlab-shell, it isn't clear whether this software should be installed on the server side (same host as gitlab) or on the client side (my local development box). Assumptions and a brief bit of searching led me to conclude it is to be installed on the server side. Does any official documentation confirm this - am I just missing it?

Finally, does a default installation of gitlab already include gitlab-shell, or is it always a separate installation step?
