The following is a log of police activity on file at the Cambridge Police Department and available to the public. The Chronicle logs arrests, assaults and car thefts when adequate information is available. Compiled by Dawn Witlin and Marjan Rafat, police log compiler for MIT and Harvard.
Sept. 4, 5:56 p.m., Michael Daley, 23, 144 Constitution Ave., Revere and Cara Marolda, 17, 59 Fruit St., were arrested by Harvard University Police in the area of 39 Holyoke St. Daley is charged with possession of heroin, while Marolda is charged with possession of marijuana after police say they were observed lighting up a marijuana pipe.
Sept. 4, 3:28 p.m., Tracey Fonseca, 22, 122 Draper St. #1, Boston, was arrested at the Gap, Galleria Mall, charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 4, 4:31 p.m., Shanpang Gao, 40, 47 Grant St., Belmont, was arrested at the Galleria Mall, charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 6, between 7:34 p.m. and 9:07 p.m., John Russell Schwope, 27, 281 Holdenwood Road, Concord, was arrested by Harvard University Police in the area of Malkin Athletic Center, 39 Holyoke St.,charged with warrant.
Sept. 6, 12:51 p.m., Joseph M. Day, 33, 10 Marney St. #2 and Miriam Rodriguez, 20, 10 Marney St. #2, were both arrested at the first block of Verdun Street, charged with breaking and entering. Rodriguez was also charged with a warrant. Police said Day and Rodriguez were caught squatting by the owners of the Verdun Street home, who had not lived in the home for two weeks.
Sept 6, 9:53 p.m., Andrew Vesprini, 21, 290 Bedford St., Lexington, was arrested at 33 Richdale Ave., charged with tagging.
Sept. 7, Roy A. Mattison, 66 Elmont St., Dorchester, was arrested at Rulls Clothing Store, 526 Mass. Ave.,charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Police say Mattison brandished a knife at Rulls staff members, accusing them of overpricing a $29 hat.
Sept. 8, 6:22 p.m., Peter J. Alicandro, 35, 46 Sylvanus Wood Lane, Woburn, was arrested at70 Sparks St., charged with open and gross conduct.
Sept. 9, time unavailable, Daniel Bailey, age unavailable, 8 Fenelon St. #1, Dorchester, was arrested at an undisclosed location, charged with an outstanding warrant and open and gross conduct.
Sept. 8, 3:30 a.m., John Weaver, 33, 43 Jefferson St., was arrested in the area of Warren Pals Park, charged with possession of a double-edged knife.
Sept. 8, Lux Mathew, 19, 1410 Columbia Road, South Boston, and Paul Mikshenas, 20, 842 East Fourth St., South Boston, were both arrested at an unknown location, charged with breaking and entering.
Sept. 9, 3:25 p.m., Anthony Thomas Lewis, 26, 2 Lawrence St., Chelsea, and John Ciano, 21, 215 Washington Ave., were both arrested at the Galleria Mall, charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 9, 5:03 p.m., Danielle Hicks, 36, 32 Holyoke St., Boston, was arrested along with a 16-year-old male and 15-year-old female at the Galleria Mall, charged with shoplifting.
Sept. 9, 1:13 a.m., Robert Pinciaro, 35, and Joseph Pinciaro, 38, both of 160 Thorndike St., were arrested at 140 Otis St., charged with assault and battery and affray.
Sept. 9, 9:26, Cher Thompson, 25, 83 Brighton Ave., Boston, was arrested at784 Memorial Drive, charged with larceny.
Sept. 9, 2:20 p.m., Rochelle Balbaky, age unavailable, homeless, was arrested at an unknown location, charged with warrants and possession of a Class B substance.
Sept. 10, 5:07 p.m., Scott A. Steverding, 24, 240 Albany St., was arrested at Albany and Main Streets, charged with a warrant.
Sept. 10, 1:45 a.m., James Pelham, 35, 240 Albany St., was arrested at an unknown location, charged with breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.
Assaults
Sept. 7, Police say a construction worker at a 2501 Mass. Ave. work site assaulted another employee with a hammer during a "verbal taunting." Witnesses said the fight escalated between one 20-year-old Cambridge man and another 18-year-old Cambridge man when one "kept yapping" at the other, daring him to strike. After punching his co-worker, the suspect allegedly took "a couple swings" at him, until the fight was broken up by other workers.
Sept. 7, a juvenile told police he was assaulted by 10 to 15 "high school aged" males outside the Amigos School, 100 Putnam Ave.Police said the victim was punched and kicked several times before another resident fended off the suspects.
Sept 7, a Dorchester resident reported having been involved in a fight with an acquaintance at 628 Mass. Ave.

Robberies
Sept. 3, 2:34 a.m., an MIT student told police that while walking near Boston's Charlesgate E. overpass, a black male, 5 foot 9 inches, of medium build, placed a gun at his cheek from behind and demanded money.
Sept. 6, 3:18 p.m., an employee of Gap, 625 Mass. Ave., reported witnessing two males stuff merchandise into a Tello's shopping bag. As the employee attempted to stop the pair at the door, they pushed him against the wall, leaving the merchandise behind as they fled the store.
Sept. 9, 8:32 p.m., a Dorchester and a Charlestown resident told police they were approached at the Food Court of the Galleria Mall by two males who demanded money. The suspects brandished a knife and the victims fled.
Sept. 10, 6:02 p.m., a 12-year-old resident told police a teenaged male, who he had met moments earlier at the Italian Festival on Warren Street, attempted to rob him in the area of Donnelly Field. Police say the suspect held a folding knife to the victim's stomach, demanding money. The victim apparently fled back to the festival.
