Sequelize Joins between two tables which are associated with third table

0

I have 3 models in Sequelize : Model User, Model Post and Model Comment.

User Table :
id, displayName

Post Table :
id, userId, value

Comment Table :
id, userId, value

How does one go about creating a join between the Post and Comment Model on the userId column ? I have created associations between User and Post Models and User and Comment Models. But when I try to create a join on Post and Comment Models I get a 'no association found' error. Which is the best way to associate the Post and Comment Model ?

I have seen some posts which say to use 'belongsToMany'
Can I do this since they are both related to User Model?

Post.belongsToMany(Comments, {through: User});
Comments.belongsToMany(Post, {through: User});

Or do I need to create a new model 'UserMaster' which will contain post and comment ids like below?

Post.belongsToMany(Comments, {through: 'UserMaster'});
Comments.belongsToMany(Post, {through: 'UserMaster'});

Thanks in advance
