API core: validate data
I am new at .net core, I am building an API with this controller:public class OrdersController : Controller
This is the delete-method:
[HttpDelete("{orderId}")]
public void Delete([FromRoute] int orderId)
{
RemoveOrder(orderId)
}
at RemoveOrder() I have:
public void RemoveOrder(long orderId)
{
If (orderStatus == "INTRANSIT")
{
//Show an error message to the user
//Don't perform the delete-action
}
else
{
//Delete the order
}
}
So, I don't know how to validate the orderStatus to show an error-message before to perform the delete-order action.
I found how to do it when it is :ApiController (not for :Controller)
Please help me.

it is not about a method at all.. if you have an orderId then you need to get this object from database and check the status. google : how to get element by id from database or entity framework core. This question is very basic and it is not about what you are asking.
