R-Shiny Modal Form
Good day developers. I am having a bit of an issue dealing with R Shiny here. I have a webpage where I can click on a button and open a modal. The modal is a form that takes inputs. I want to use these modal inputs in a string and print that variable. I always get the following errors:
Operation not allowed without an active reactive context. (You tried
to do something that can only be done from inside a reactive
expression or observer.)
and sometimes this when I remove reactivity:
Warning: Error in as.vector: cannot coerce type 'closure' to vector of
type 'character'
# Shiny App: Server
tab_tab1_server <- function(input, output, session) {
# Defining a modal containing input boxes
tab1_modal <- function(failed = FALSE) {
modalDialog(
title = "Tab 1", size = "l",
fluidRow(
box(title = "Names", background = "green", collapsible = TRUE, width = 12, collapsed = TRUE,
splitLayout(
textInput(inputId = "GRP_ID",label = "Group ID", value = "1337"),
fluidRow(
box(title = "Names", background = "green", collapsible = TRUE, width = 12, collapsed = TRUE,
splitLayout(
textInput(inputId = "GRP_ID",label = "Object ID", value = "1337")
,textInput(inputId = "GRP_DESC",label = "Object Description", value = "Ahmads Test Entry"))
))
)}
}
# button to show modal
observeEvent(input$add_btn, {
showModal(tab1_modal())})
# Variable to contain entire script including text from input variables
result<-sprintf("This is your input", GRP_ID,GRP_DESC)
# Button to print variable in console
observeEvent(input$result_btn, {
print(paste0("Showing result:",result ))
})
Please tell me how to use the inputs in the modal for another action.
