New user access/authentication to remote authentication with Arctic DB

0

I have been using Arctic DB for a while now running it on localhost. Now I am facing the question how to properly set up a remote server with MongoDB/Arctic database. I would like to set up some users on it with read-only access to data.

However when I create such users with administrator command from Mongo shell (db.createUser(...)) and give them roles as "read" on "admin" database, the Arctic store cannot list libraries stored in this database when connecting with this user. The error is:

list_libraries [not authorized on admin to execute command { listDatabases: 1, nameOnly: true, lsid: { id: UUID("b9689313-551f-4bc1-afdf-4612936a4fce") }, $db: "admin", $readPreference: { mode: "primaryPreferred" } }]

I am able to connect properly with the newly created user only when I give him "root" role from Mongo shell.

I would like to know whether I am missing something when creating users or it is not possible to set up read-only access to Arctic DB.
